1. Introduction and Controller
Protecting your personal data matters to us. We process the data generated when you visit this website strictly within the limits of the applicable law — in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telecommunications and Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).
The controller within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 7 GDPR is:
ClevMedia — Martin Garber
Agnesstraße 7
09113 Chemnitz
Germany
Phone: +49 152 03189358
Email: info@clevmedia.com
No data protection officer has been appointed, as the legal requirements under Art. 37 GDPR and § 38 BDSG do not apply to us.
2. Definitions
Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable person — for example a name, email address or IP address.
Processing means any operation performed on such data, such as collecting, storing, reading, transmitting or deleting it.
Data subject means you, when we process data about you.
3. The short version
- This website is an information and recommendation site. You can read it without signing up or creating an account.
- We use no advertising or tracking cookies, no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics and no retargeting services.
- There is no audience measurement — we do not count which pages are read.
- Contracts for recommended products are concluded exclusively with the respective provider, not with us. We may receive a commission for this.
4. Data collected when you visit this website
When you access the website, our server automatically records technical information and stores it in server log files. This includes:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- name and URL of the retrieved file
- amount of data transferred and the status of the request (HTTP status code)
- the previously visited page (referrer), if your browser transmits it
- browser type, browser version and operating system used
Purpose: delivering the website, ensuring trouble-free operation, evaluating system security and stability, error analysis and defending against abusive access and attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and functional operation of this website.
Retention period: the log files are deleted regularly. They are not merged with other data sources or evaluated for advertising purposes.
5. Hosting
This website runs on a rented server with an external hosting provider (RackNerd LLC). The provider processes the data arising in the context of hosting exclusively on our instructions; we have a data processing agreement with them pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
The server is located in the United States. See section 7 for the issues this raises.
6. No content delivery network
This website is served directly from our server. No content delivery network (CDN) is interposed; your browser's request goes directly to the server named in section 5.
7. Transfers to third countries
The server hosting this website is located in the USA. Personal data is therefore transferred to the USA.
Transfers are based on the Standard Contractual Clauses issued by the European Commission pursuant to Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR, unless the respective provider is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework in any case. Despite these safeguards, it cannot be entirely ruled out that US authorities may access the data. We expressly inform you of this here.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use no cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking purposes. This website sets no cookies at all.
The only thing stored is your choice between the light and dark appearance, in your browser's local storage (key clev-theme). This entry is not a cookie, is not transmitted to us and does not leave your device. It merely ensures the site looks the way you set it up on your next visit.
Legal basis: § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG (storage strictly necessary for a service you requested). You can delete the entry at any time via your browser settings.
9. Contacting us
Contact by email: if you write to us at info@clevmedia.com, we process the details you provide in order to handle your request.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your request is aimed at concluding or performing a contract; otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).
Retention period: we delete the message once it has been fully handled and no statutory retention obligations apply, at the latest after six months.
Please note that transmission by unencrypted email may have security gaps, and we therefore recommend not sending confidential content this way.
10. Newsletter and sign-up
This website currently has no working newsletter delivery. The email fields you see on individual pages are placeholders: your input is not transmitted, not stored and not sent to us — it merely triggers a confirmation inside your browser.
Once we offer a newsletter, we will state the provider, the purpose, the legal basis and how to withdraw consent at this point.
11. No advertising or tracking services
We deliberately use none of the following:
- no Google Analytics, no Google Ads, no Google Tag processing
- no Meta pixel, no Facebook conversions
- no retargeting, no remarketing, no personalised advertising
- no social media plugins, no tracking pixels, no embedded videos
- no in-house analytics tool and no server-side audience measurement
- no external fonts — all fonts come from your device's system
Consequently, no profiling of your usage behaviour takes place, and no data is sold.
12. Affiliate links and partner programmes
On this website we recommend products from partner companies. If you buy a product through one of our links, we may receive a commission. This does not change the price for you; you incur no additional costs.
When you click a recommendation link, you are forwarded directly to the respective provider's website. From that point on, their own privacy policy applies. We receive no information about which person purchased which product; we only receive aggregated commission statements from the partner programmes.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the billing and performance measurement of the offers we recommend.
Note: not all product links are yet connected to partner programmes. Where a link is not active, it does not lead to an external site.
13. Who receives your data?
Your data is passed on to third parties only where legally permitted or required. Recipients may include:
- Hosting provider (RackNerd LLC) for operating the server
- Email provider for handling messages you send us
All named service providers are contractually obliged to process data on our instructions pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR and may only process it as instructed. No data is passed on to other third parties, in particular not for advertising purposes. Data is transferred only where we are legally obliged to do so — for example under an official or court order.
14. Storage duration
We store personal data only for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention obligations. Specifically:
- Server log files: deleted regularly, no permanent storage
- Email enquiries: deleted after final processing, at the latest after six months
- Display preference (light/dark): stored in your browser until you change it or clear your browser storage
15. No obligation to provide data
You are not legally or contractually obliged to provide us with personal data. This website can be used without providing any data. If you do not provide details by email, however, we cannot respond to your enquiry.
16. Your rights as a data subject
You have the following rights towards us:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR): whether and which data we process about you
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): for inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): where no legal basis for processing remains
- Right to restriction (Art. 18 GDPR): where processing is to be suspended temporarily
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): receiving or transferring your data in a common format
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdrawal of consent (Art. 7 (3) GDPR): at any time with effect for the future
A message to info@clevmedia.com is sufficient to exercise these rights.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: you may complain to a data protection supervisory authority at any time, in particular the one responsible for us:
Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte
Maternistraße 17, 01067 Dresden, Germany
Phone: 0351 85471-101
Email: post@sdtb.sachsen.de
17. Data security and encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this website uses TLS encryption (identifiable by the "https" and the lock symbol in the address bar). This prevents third parties from reading data you transmit to us while in transit.
We also take technical and organisational measures pursuant to Art. 32 GDPR to protect your data against loss, destruction, access, modification or distribution by unauthorised persons.
18. No automated decision-making
No decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
19. Currency and changes to this policy
This privacy policy is currently valid (last updated: October 2026). Further development of our website or changes in the legal requirements may make it necessary to adapt it. The current version is always available on this page.
20. Note on the images
All product and topic images used on this website are AI-generated and serve illustration purposes only. They show no real persons and no actual product photographs.
21. Disclaimer
21.1 Content of this website
The contents of this website are created with the greatest possible care. However, we cannot guarantee that the content is correct, complete or up to date. As a service provider, we are responsible for our own content on these pages under the general laws pursuant to Section 7 (1) DDG (German Digital Services Act). Under Sections 8 to 10 DDG, however, we as a service provider are not obliged to monitor transmitted or stored third-party information or to investigate circumstances that indicate unlawful activity. Obligations to remove or block the use of information under the general laws remain unaffected. Liability in this respect is only possible from the point in time at which we become aware of a specific infringement. Upon becoming aware of corresponding infringements, we will remove this content immediately.
21.2 No advice
The content published on this website is for general information purposes only. It does not constitute legal, tax, investment, financial, medical or any other professional advice and cannot replace individual consultation with a qualified person. Decisions you make on the basis of the information presented here are entirely your own responsibility. To the extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any disadvantages arising from this.
21.3 Recommendations and external links
This website contains recommendations for third-party products and services as well as links to external websites whose content we have no influence over. The respective provider or operator is always responsible for the content of linked pages; their general terms and conditions and privacy policies apply there. At the time of linking, we checked the external pages for possible legal violations; unlawful content was not recognisable. Permanent monitoring of the content of linked pages is not reasonable without concrete indications of a legal infringement. Upon becoming aware of legal infringements, we will remove such links immediately.
Descriptions of products reflect our own assessment at the time of publication. They do not constitute a guarantee of specific characteristics and are not a binding offer. Commitments regarding product characteristics arise exclusively from the information provided by the respective manufacturer or retailer and from the contractual terms applicable there. Contracts for products offered there are concluded exclusively between you and the respective provider, not with us. The respective providers are solely responsible for the contracts concluded there, for delivery, for warranty and for any reversal of the transaction.
21.4 Affiliate notice
Some links on this website are affiliate links. If you purchase a product through such a link, we may receive a commission. This does not change the price for you. This remuneration does not influence our assessments; a recommendation is not made in exchange for payment, and the selection of the products presented is made editorially at our own discretion. See section 12 for more details.
21.5 Availability
We endeavour to keep the website available with as few interruptions as possible, but cannot guarantee this. Liability for technical faults, outages or data loss exists only within the scope of the statutory provisions.
21.6 Scope of liability
The above limitations of liability do not apply in the case of intentional or grossly negligent conduct, in the case of injury to life, body or health, in the case of an assumption of a guarantee, in the case of fraudulently concealed defects, or in the case of claims under the German Product Liability Act. In the case of a breach of material contractual obligations, we are liable for foreseeable, contract-typical damage, unless liability is unlimited under sentences 1 and 2. Otherwise, liability is excluded. The above provisions do not shift the burden of proof to the detriment of users.
21.7 Copyright
The content and works created on this website are subject to German copyright law. Reproduction, editing, distribution and any kind of exploitation outside the limits of copyright law require prior consent. Downloads and copies of this page are permitted only for private, non-commercial use. Where the content on this page was not created by us, the copyrights of third parties are respected. In particular, third-party content is marked as such. Should you nevertheless notice a copyright infringement, please send us a corresponding notice at info@clevmedia.com. Upon becoming aware of legal infringements, we will remove this content immediately.
21.8 Severability clause
Should individual provisions of this disclaimer not, no longer or not fully comply with applicable law, the remaining parts of this provision shall remain unaffected in their content and validity. The statutory provision shall take the place of the invalid provision.
